  2. Extract and isolate compounds; identify the chemical structures of isolated compounds from plants.
  3. Focus research on identifying compounds with biological effects to create medicinal natural products.

Research methodology

  • Focus on the extraction and isolation by chromatography with types of column: silica gel, Rp-18, sephadex LH20, Diaion HP20, thin layer chromatography, preparative thin layer chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography…
  • Identification of chemical structures by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1D-NMR: 1H, 13C, DEPT; 2D-NMR: HMBC, HSQC, COSY, NOESY), Mass Spectrometry (MS, GC-MS, HRMS), Infrared Spectroscopy.
  • Focus on evaluation of toxicity (acute toxicity, long-term toxicity), the biological effects such as cytotoxic activity, antioxidant activity and hepatoprotective potential, hypoglycemia, antibacterial of extraction procedure, pure compounds in vitro and in vivo.
